Trauma Healing Resource Kit

Developed by the Crisis & Trauma Resource Institute (CTRI)

We’re pleased to share this external resource created by the Crisis & Trauma Resource Institute (CTRI) to support those walking alongside others in their healing. This practical toolkit is designed for professionals, helpers, and caregivers who are integrating trauma-informed approaches into their practice.

The Trauma Healing Resource Kit offers straightforward, body-based strategies to help individuals understand, regulate, and respond to the effects of stress and trauma in real time.

What’s included:

  • Quieting the Nervous System – A grounding activity to reduce anxiety and support individuals experiencing flashbacks or dissociation.

  • Identifying Body Cues – An exercise to explore how emotions manifest physically, encouraging awareness and normalization of physical responses.

  • Identifying Body Sensations – A guide to naming internal sensations linked to both stress and regulation.

  • The Mechanics of Breathing – A foundational breathwork practice to promote calming and mindful self-regulation.

This kit is intended for use by trauma-informed professionals. Some activities may not be appropriate for all individuals or settings and should be introduced with care.
